DESCRIPTION:The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Mossport for us old-timers) will be hosting the\n2025 VARAC Grand Prix June 12 – 15. \nClasses of racing include: \n\nVINTAGE (pre 1962)\nHISTORIC ( pre 1973)\nCLASSIC ( pre 1999)\nFORMULA CLASSIC ( open wheel Monoposto race cars pre 2000)\nSpecial Guests (Sports 2000 North America Series)\n\nIn addition\, Toyo Tires F1600 Championship Series races will be staged.\nThursday June 12 is a track orientation orientation and testing day including street car\nlapping.\nAt the time of writing 323 entries have been registered. The registration can be seen\nhere. \nThe entry list is very impressive and includes most of the cars we own. At this point\, 72 cars are listed to be on the track on Thursday including a couple of Super Sevens\, a Lola T-89\, a Lola T 540\, some Porsche\n356c’s\, 911’s\, 914’s\, a TR8\, an Elan\, a Mustang\, a Cobra\, a Lotus 11 a Lotus 22\, an MGA\, a Sprite and many more.\nDrive time is about 2 hours from Niagara on the 407. \nIf you are interested in attending and want to travel together\, John Lehnen will be leaving Tim Hortons at Prudhomme Station\, 3125 N Service Rd\, Vineland Station at 8:00 a.m. Route will be on Hwy 407.

DESCRIPTION:The Canadian Grand Prix will be held from June 13 -15 once again at the Circuit Gilles\n– Villeneuve on the Isle Notre Dame in Montréal. The circuit is 4.361 kilometres long and\nthe lap record of 1:14.856 is held by Hamilton. Known by some as the Circuit des\nGroundhogs\, the critters have “joined the races” in 1990\, 2008\, 2018\, 2022 and twice\nin 2007. Will they show their heads again in 2025? Both Hamilton and Schumacher\nhave won here 7 times; can Hamilton take the all time record this year in a Ferrari and\nmake it 8 wins? I don’t think Max will be a factor!\nIn the Lehnen household\, they watch it on TSN.

Niagara Falls\, ON L2H 0L5) “Blue\nSalamander Café” – we have permission to line cars on the inside circle under the pavilion at the entrance (map above); they will share any social post we make\nCAUTION – watch for wildlife especially turtles\, frogs and snakes.\nAll proceeds at the café go to the centre and keeping it open all year round. Those not wishing a coffee or to explore a bit can come closer to departure time. If the line in the circle is full\, there is plenty of parking both accessible and regular.\nAlso if there are cars that want the drive to Heartland but not the Meet\, Go and Eat – it allows them to plan their route there and explore but then head back home. (Of note: BlackBurn Brewery is across the street and have 60+ Tuesday deals in addition to Thursday Car Nights)\nMUSTER TIME: 3:30pm (Blue Salamander Café closes at 3:30 but they will stay open for us – gives us time to explore\, relax\, use the washrooms depending on where people are coming from. DESCRIPTION:F-1 The Movie \nWe will be attending the movie as a NBCC event on the afternoon of Monday\, July 7 at 3:30 p.m. at Landmark Cinemas at the Pen Centre in St. Catharines. (Mondays are seniors days with\na 20% discount on tickets and concessions). Reserved seating tickets can be purchased in\nadvance starting July 2 on line at (https://www.landmarkcinemas.com/showtimes/st-catharines-pen-centre).\nThe movie runs for 155 minutes!!\, \nThis movie was in production for over two years and had a budget of over US$300M. In it\,\nBrad Pitt plays a has-been racer-for-hire 30 years past his prime and past a career ending F1\ncrash. He has been offered a seat in a start-up team to have another go at it. \nFilmed at live Gran Prix events in 2023 and 2024 involving all 10 actual F1 teams and their\ndrivers\, the tracks seen in the film include Silverstone\, the Hungaroring\, Spa\, Suzuka and Abu\nDhabi. \nToto Wolff and Mercedes Applied Science modified six F2 racing cars to look like F1 cars and\nto be capable of carrying the drivers and 60 pounds of special film camera equipment to\nspeeds in excess of 180 miles per hour. Pitt and co-star Idris trained for this task under the\ntutelage of stunt drivers Luciano Bachata (also a former F1 driver)\, Craig Dolby and Duncan\nTappy at Winfield Racing School\, Paul Ricard. \nMeet\, Eat ‘n Go \nWe are also combining this movie with dinner after at Kelsey’s (https://www.kelseys.ca/en/\nlocations/on/st.-catharines/221-glendale-ave)\, also located at the Pen Centre so we will not\nneed a map or directions. (Kelsey’s is on the south end of the Pen property adjacent to Glendale Avenue).

DESCRIPTION:Weather permitting\, we will hold an outdoor meeting.\nLocation:\n\nJordan Valley RV Park\n\n3902 Twenty-First Street\, Vineland\, ON L0R 1S0\n905-562-6562\nJust behind the Village of Jordan across the Bailey Bridge\, along side of the 20 Mile Creek below Balls Falls\nGeneral Meeting\, Campfire and Weiner Roast\nThe club will provide the hot dogs\, campfire sticks\, buns\, condiments\, chips\, paper plates\, napkins and some cutlery for serving \n\nMembers are asked to bring:\n\n\nYour little British car (LBC)\, if you have one\nChairs\nBeverage of your choice\nCutlery\nBug spray – fortunately\, the area is well cared for and ticks are not an issue\nIf you wish more than a hot dog (or no dog)\, by all means pack your own dinner\, salads\, dessert\n\n\nThere is plenty of parking on the lawn by Twenty Mile Creek. There are picnic tables for serving of the food.\nWe are looking forward to something a little different but with the usual camaraderie that we always enjoy. \nIf rain is predicted or the weather forecast is iffy\, we will meet as usual at Burgoyne Woods under the pavilion on the lower level.
